A Magical Sunrise Elopement at the Fairy Glen, Quiraing & Sligachan Old Bridge | Isle Of Skye

This day had everything: a dawn ceremony at the Fairy Glen, a few unexpected roadblock sheep (yes, really!), sweeping landscapes at the Quiraing, and a romantic finale at the iconic Sligachan Old Bridge. Oh and we can’t forget their adorable puppy and Melissa’s two children who made the day even more meaningful.

Our morning started bright and early and by early, I mean before the sun even considered peeking over the Skye horizon. Melissa and Ewen chose the Fairy Glen for their ceremony, one of the most whimsical and otherworldly places in Scotland. Picture green rolling hills, winding paths, and the striking rock formation known as Castle Ewen rising above it all. The whole place has a magical energy that makes it feel like you’ve stepped into another world.
Of course, no true Skye adventure is complete without a twist and ours came when a flock of sheep decided they weren’t quite ready to give up the road on the way to the ceremony! I laughed, waited it out, and eventually made it to the Fairy Glen just as the sunrise painted the sky in shades of pink and gold.
With Mels children and thier puppy by their side, Melissa and Ewen exchanged vows in one of the most enchanting corners of Scotland. It was intimate, emotional, and completely perfect.
Exploring the Quiraing
After the ceremony, we headed north to the Quiraing a location that feels like it belongs on the set of a fantasy film. The towering cliffs, sweeping vistas, and rugged beauty of this landscape make it a must for any elopement photography on the Isle of Skye. Melissa and Ewen wandered hand in hand, soaking in the views and the stillness of the morning after such a joyful start.

To finish the adventure, we made our way to the Sligachan Old Bridge. With the dramatic Cuillin mountains in the background and the river rushing underneath, it’s one of the most iconic spots for elopement photos on Skye. As the afternoon light softened, Melissa and Ewen shared quiet moments together, reflecting on their day and the new journey they were beginning as husband and wife.
And of course, no celebration would be complete without a little champagne! The day ended with an epic champagne spray Melissa went all in and ended up completely drenched, laughing the whole time. It was the perfect, joy-filled ending to an unforgettable elopement.
